Abstract : Although diabetes is one of the important metabolic disorders it still remains at the end of 2o th century as a controlled but permanent untreatable disease. Now there is a new trend for the use of herbal remedies for the treatment of diabetes because the plant and plant products are known to be used for long time as hypoglycemic agents. Cleome droseifolia” samwa” is used as a decoction in Sinai Bedouins for the treatment of diabetes mellitus because its extract significantly suppressed the rise in peripheral blood glucose concentration. So the present investigation was carried out to identify the effect of Cleome droserifolia extracts (acetone and chloroform extracts). In comparison which the effect of gliclazide and taurine on normal and alloxan-diabetic rats
